Lutyens' Delhi is an area in New Delhi, India, named after the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869–1944), who was responsible for much of the architectural design and building during the period of the British Raj, when India was part of the British Empire in the 1920s and 1930s and 1940s. This also includes the Lutyens Bungalow Zone (LBZ).
Sir Edwin Lutyens, the architect of Delhi, designed 4 bungalows in the Rashtrapati Bhavan Estate, (Viceroy House Estate); now, these bungalows lie on the Mother Teresa Crescent (then Willingdon Crescent). Lutyens, apart from designing the Viceroy's House, designed large government building and was involved with town planning.[1]
Sir Herbert Baker, who also designed with the Secretariat Buildings (North and South Block), designed bungalows on the then King George's Avenue (south of the Secretariats) for high-ranking officials. Other members of the team of architects were Robert Tor Russell, who built Connaught Place, the Eastern and Western Courts on Janpath, Teen Murti House, Safdarjung Airport, National Stadium and several government houses,[2] William Henry Nicholls, CG Blomfield, FB Blomfield, Walter Sykes George, Arthur Gordon Shoosmith and Henry Medd.[1][3]
It is on the 2002 World Monuments Watch list of 100 Most Endangered Sites made by World Monuments Fund, a heritage organization based in New York.[4]

Ré Island, French Île de Ré, 雷島
レ島 (Île de Ré)
Alternative Title: Île de Ré
Ré Island, French Île de Ré, island in the Bay of Biscay, Charente-Maritime département, Poitou-Charentes région of France. It is located off the west coast of France, opposite La Pallice and La Rochelle. It was for long separated from the mainland by the shallow water of Pertuis Breton, 2 miles (3.2 km) wide at the narrowest point, but a 2-mile toll bridge was constructed in the late 1980s.
The island is 18 miles (29 km) long and 2 to 3 miles wide; it has an area of 33 square miles (85 square km). On the island’s north coast an indentation, the Fier d’Ars, nearly divides it, leaving an isthmus only 240 feet (73 metres) across. The island is low-lying and fertile, specializing in the cultivation of early vegetables, notably asparagus, and there are vineyards. There are salt fields and oyster beds along the shores, which have long stretches of sand. The chief resort communities are Saint-Martin, a port on the north coast, and La Flotte, a fishing port. There are ruins of a medieval abbey of Saint-Laurent. Tourism is the island’s principal economic activity, and preservation of the island’s natural resources has become important because of the large number of summer visitors.

The main town is a UNESCO World Heritage site
Saint-Martin-de-Ré is the main town on the island, the mini capital of Ile de Ré. Home to some of the best restaurants, bistrots, bars, and ice cream, it is situated within fortressed walls and around a gorgeous waterfront. Saint-Martin is also a World Heritage site. In the 1670s, the famous French military engineer and Marshal of France, Vauban, was commissioned to overhaul the island’s defences. He enclosed this town in extensive fortifications and modern city walls still standing today. Climb the bell tower of the church for a panoramic view of the terracotta-roofed houses and donkeys grazing in striped shorts (a local tradition).
