The Ordos Museum (Chinese: 鄂尔多斯博物馆) is a museum in Kangbashi, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.

The museum, which houses collections relating to the local history of Ordos and the surrounding area, was designed by Chinese design company MAD at the request of the local government and built by Huhehaote Construction.[1] It is a large, open-plan space of around 41,000 square feet; the design was influenced by both the Gobi Desert and the work of Buckminster Fuller.[2][3] The museum has six levels of exhibition space.[4]

This amorphous structure rises from the heart of Ordos’ new city center, inspired by the surrounding dunes and the spirit of the Gobi desert. Wrapped in polished metal louvers, the building reflects and dissolves into its planned surroundings, creating a windowless shell that anchors it to the earth.
But inside, this logic changes: winding corridors, sinuous bridges, and canyon-like spaces invite exploration. Skylights flood the interior with natural light, blurring boundaries and creating an immersive experience for visitors as they wander through flexible galleries and open spaces.
