Akinakes 的刀鞘,

This item is a scabbard of Akinakes, a type of sword of Scythian origin that was widely used in the Achaemenid Empire. It comes from the archaeological site of Takht-i Sangin and is made of a single piece of ivory that allowed the weapon to be inserted. The main scene, surrounded by a frieze of pearls and ova, shows a standing lion grabbing a deer. This motif is reminiscent of animal fights involving a lion, very common in Near Eastern art. This scabbard can be seen at the “Tajikistan. In the land of rivers of gold ”, until January 10, 2022. https: //bit.ly/Exposition-Tajikistan Akinakes scabbard adorned with a lion grabbing a deer Tajikistan, Takht-i Sangin, temple of the Oxus 5th- 4th century BC Ivory National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan

Panoramic view of Central Park from Rockefeller Center
Central Park in 2004
Paul Seibert spent much of 2018 hovering thousands of feet over New York City, taking photographs for the helicopter tour company FlyNYON. Over the course of the year, Seibert shot the city from almost every imaginable angle, but the images that always performed best were those taken from a single spot: high over Harlem, looking south over Central Park, the skyscrapers of Midtown, and Downtown Manhattan, with the East and Hudson Rivers converging at the top of the frame.
Seibert shot the city from that spot month after month, season after season, which gave him the idea to create this image: a composite photograph that shows the transition between the two seasons in a single, seamless landscape.

Happy first day of fall! We can't wait to see the leaves begin to turn across the street in Central Park—organic architecture at its finest.

Scarborough in Yorkshire. Are you going to Scarborough Fair?

In the Middle Ages, Scarborough Fair, permitted in a royal charter of 1253, held a six-week trading festival attracting merchants from all over Europe. It ran from Assumption Day, 15 August, until Michaelmas Day, 29 September. The fair continued to be held for 500 years, from the 13th to the 18th century, and is commemorated in the song Scarborough Fair:

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
—parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme....[17]

Scarborough (/ˈskɑːrbrə/)[3] is a town on the North Sea coast of North Yorkshire, England. Historically in the North Riding of Yorkshire, the town lies between 10–230 feet (3–70 m) above sea level, from the harbour rising steeply north and west towards limestone cliffs. The older part of the town lies around the harbour and is protected by a rocky headland.

With a population of just over 61,000, Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire Coast.[4] The town has fishing and service industries, including a growing digital and creative economy, as well as being a tourist destination. Residents of the town are known as Scarborians.[5]
