UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee inscribed today three new sites on the World Heritage List following an extraordinary session. The sites are:

 The Rachid Karameh International Fair of Tripoli (Lebanon),

 Landmarks of Ancient Kingdom of Saba, Marib (Yemen) 

and The Historic Centre of Odesa (Ukraine). 

These three sites have all been also inscribed on the List of World Heritage in Danger.

The World Heritage Committee used an emergency procedure to inscribe the sites, due to several reasons, such as their the alarming state of conservation, the lack of financial resources for its maintenance, or threats of destruction from ongoing conflicts.
The inscription of these three sites on the List of World Heritage in Danger opens access to enhanced international assistance, both technical and financial.
