法國預備修改大皇宮整建計畫

法國為了1900年在巴黎舉行的世界博覽會而興建的大皇宮因為年久失修，於2013年僱用義大利建築師事務所Local Architectures Network (LAN)負責規劃它的整建，原訂於今年年底起關閉這棟建築，啟動施工。
但是文化部長巴挈洛卻在9月底宣布，「我們將放棄那項今天看來理念不合時宜的計畫。」據世界報引用文化部人員的說法，未來的整建計畫是傾向此一歷史建築的修復，而非大幅改建。
大皇宮位在與法國總統府僅有一箭之遙的八區，多年來是巴黎舉行大型藝術特展、商業博覽會與時裝發表的最佳場所。
LAN原來的計畫是對其進行大規模的改頭換面，包括加深加大中殿空間、拆除原有迴廊、加建一條穿越中殿的空中步道，以將目前大皇宮一年可容納300萬參觀人次的展覽空間擴大到容納400萬人。
這項野心超大的規畫歷經數年的醞釀後，終因法國文化部、經濟部與國立博物館聯盟等相關機構的重新檢討而被放棄；主因是新冠肺炎的發生讓未來所有展覽空間與參觀動線規畫都必須考慮到健康風險問題，在疫情繼續肆虐的當下，「連舉辦大型展覽的想法都令人起問號」，博物館聯盟主席說道。
其次，原來的改建規畫預算雖然就已高達4.66億歐元，但經費顯然不足，特別是由於建築外部的毀損速度比原來預測更快更糟；而且由於大皇宮的所在非常靠近塞納河，按照LAN的規畫改建，屆時很可能因技術安全問題而預算爆表數倍。
不過因為法國將在2024年主辦奧運，所以文化部仍希望大皇宮能趕在賽事開幕前重新開門。
為次，它重新任命了全法歷史古蹟主任建築師François Chatillon負責大皇宮的修復規畫，並已於9月下旬帶著他的團隊進駐大皇宮。

The Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, commonly known as the Grand Palais (English: Great Palace), is a large historic site, exhibition hall and museum complex located at the Champs-Élysées in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France. Construction of the Grand Palais began in 1897 following the demolition of the Palais de l'Industrie (Palace of Industry) as part of the preparation works for the Universal Exposition of 1900, which also included the creation of the adjacent Petit Palais and Pont Alexandre III.[2] It has been listed since 2000 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.[3]
The structure was built in the style of Beaux-Arts architecture as taught by the École des Beaux-Arts of Paris. The building reflects the movement's taste for ornate decoration through its stone facades, the formality of its floor planning and the use of techniques that were innovative at the time, such as its glass vault, its structure made of iron and light steel framing, and its use of reinforced concrete.[4]
