And to end the day ULM MINSTER, which looks even more stunning at night. Its church tower is the highest in the world - at 529.954068 feet, 161.53 meters, and in clear weather there is a view of the Alps; from Säntis in Switzerland's Appenzell Alps, to the Zugspitze in Upper Bavaria, Germany.
In Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, the foundation stone for “Das Ulmer Münster" was laid in 1377, the Gothic era, but it was not finished until May 31, 1890, after continually being delayed through everything from various wars, religious and political, to lack of funding.
