The Tribute in Light

The Tribute in Light rises above the lower Manhattan skyline in New York on September 11th 2016 as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. Fifteen years ago, during a series of co-ordinated terror attacks, two hijacked airplanes were flown into the World Trade Center's twin towers. A third plane targeted the Pentagon and a fourth plane heading towards Washington, DC ultimately crashed into a field. The unprecedented attacks claimed the lives of almost 3,000 people.
